Mac & Party – “Harambe”

Harambe, Africa.”

Mac & Party’s “Harambe” ni fupi, but we get to soak in the predominant electronic organs na bass kwa this old tune that is part of a history of tourism-inspired songs.

Zuhura Swaleh – “Ni Anasa”

Anasa ni anasa.”

Defined by its simplicity and groove, “Ni Anasa” is a unique offering ya the legendary taarab figure, Zuhura Swaleh.

Matano Juma – “Saa Na Dakika”

Saa na dakika zilipolingana.”

Matano Juma delivers a steady-paced story, accompanied by a memorable instrumental melody.

Zein l’Abdin Ahmed – “Huba”

Moyo umezidi hamu.”

A romantic poem from a master oud player and a trailblazing taarab musician.

Supadrum ft. Apio Moro – “Omali”

Ang’o mitimo chunyani?

Apio Moro’s lyrical voice in this Dholuo lament over Afamefuna’s amapiano production sounds refreshing.

Ongachi – “Sleep Deprived”

Natoka.”

Off her debut EP, My Tribe, “Sleep Deprived” is a sentimental song depicting a distressed Ongachi, singing in a soulful alto, baada ya love kuenda sour.
